Ludic activities can play a variety of roles in the language curriculum. Conventionally, they have been used in the language class as warm-ups at the beginning of class, fill-ins when there is extra time near the end of class, or as an occasional bit of spice encouraged into the curriculum to add variety into the classroom. All these techniques are acceptable, but ludic activities can also constitute a more substantial part of language classes.
